About

Plan smarter drone missions — right in your browser

The VisionAnalytix DJI Mission Planner is a web-based tool that lets you design precise waypoint missions for your DJI Mini 4 Pro and export them as KMZ files ready to fly — no app downloads, no desktop software, no fuss.

Whether you’re a weekend flyer, a professional surveyor, or a real estate photographer, you can plan your mission at your desk and have your drone flying it within minutes.

What is a waypoint mission?

A waypoint mission is a pre-programmed flight path where your drone flies automatically between a series of defined points — at a set altitude, speed, and camera angle — without you having to manually control it in the air.

Instead of hand-flying and hoping for consistent coverage, you plan exactly where you want the drone to go, what you want it to photograph, and how it should fly — then let it execute the mission precisely, every time.

📍
Precise & repeatable

Fly the exact same path every time — ideal for progress monitoring, inspections, and surveys that need to be compared over time.

📷
Automated camera control

Set your gimbal angle, camera actions, and hover times at each waypoint so you capture exactly the footage you need.

🔋
Efficient use of battery

A well-planned mission flies the optimal path, minimising wasted flight time and maximising coverage per battery.

How it works

1

Open the planner in your browser

No software to install. Log in to your VisionAnalytix account and the mission planner loads directly in your browser with an interactive satellite map.

2

Plan your mission on the map

Click to place waypoints on the map, or draw a coverage area for automated grid mapping. Set altitude, speed, gimbal angle, and camera actions for each point.

3

Export your KMZ file

Click Export KMZ and download your mission file. This file uses DJI’s WPML format — the native waypoint language understood by the DJI Fly app on your RC controller.

4

Load and fly

Copy the KMZ file to your DJI RC controller via USB, open it in the DJI Fly app, and fly your mission. Your Mini 4 Pro handles the rest automatically.

What can you use it for?

🏠
Real estate & property

Plan consistent flyovers and orbit shots around properties. Repeat the exact same path for before-and-after comparisons.

📐
Surveying & mapping

Use coverage grid missions to capture overlapping images for photogrammetry, orthomosaic maps, and 3D models.

🔍
Inspection

Plan precise inspection paths for infrastructure, rooftops, solar panels, and construction sites with consistent altitude and angle.

🌾
Agriculture

Map paddocks and crop areas systematically. Coverage mapping ensures complete, overlapping imagery for analysis.

🎬
Videography

Pre-program smooth, repeatable camera movements for cinematic shots — without needing to hand-fly every take.

🧭
Recreational pilots

Explore new flight techniques and locations with confidence. Plan your path before you arrive at the site.

About the KMZ & WPML file format

What is WPML?

WPML (Waypoint Markup Language) is DJI’s official format for storing waypoint mission data. It describes everything the drone needs to fly a mission — coordinates, altitude, speed, gimbal angles, camera actions, and more — in a structured XML file packaged inside a KMZ container.

When you export a mission from the VisionAnalytix planner, the KMZ file it generates is written in native WPML — the same format used by DJI’s own tools. This means your missions load reliably into the DJI Fly app without any conversion or compatibility issues.

Unlike some tools that generate approximate or unofficial formats, our planner has been tested and validated directly against working missions to ensure full compatibility with the DJI Mini 4 Pro and RC controller.

💡 Not sure which tool is right for you? If you fly a DJI Mini 4 Pro and want a straightforward, browser-based planner without the complexity or cost of enterprise tools, VisionAnalytix is built for you. Dronelink is a powerful option if you need multi-drone operations or advanced enterprise features — but it comes with a steeper learning curve and higher price.
